Technical Marketing and Sales Evangelist, Oxford -
Are you a talented commercial leader with a deep knowledge of applied mathematics? Can you translate the technical benefits of an algorithms-led high-performance computing product into commercial opportunities? Do you thrive in a small-but-powerful team, thinking both strategically as well as operationally? If so then please read on, as we have a unique opportunity on the outskirts of Oxford for you to consider.
Brand is working on a retained basis for what can truly be considered as one of the original “tech start-ups”. Specialising in using numerical algorithms to design, install and manage high-performance computing systems for businesses mainly in the financial trading and oil and gas sectors, we need someone who is able to fully-understand the benefits of using applied mathematics for commercial success.
With extensive experience in a niche, technical and scientific environment that provides an equally-technical and specialised product to solve bespoke needs, you will have both the mathematical knowledge as well as commercial awareness to make this role a success.
You’ll have ideally led sales and/or marketing teams, able to lead from the front to explore new business opportunities; identifying new areas, meeting with clients, presenting at events and leading the creation of technical collateral and mathematical white papers that explain the benefits of what you can offer an organisation. This is not a product that’s well known, so you’ll need to spread awareness of this company through a variety of channels, both online and offline, including events, meetings and account management.
You’ll lead a small marketing team and will have product managers and developers to handle the “doing”, so what is essential is your profound technical knowledge and commercial awareness to lead this small-but-powerful team in existing client management and new client acquisition.
A degree and – ideally – a PHD, in either applied mathematics of applied sciences, is vital here to give you the technical grounding to communicate and work with the developers, all to use your full understanding of the product and service offered to target new opportunities. You won’t be selling, but you’ll be the true technical evangelist of the company, being a product expert and commercial leader to continue the growth of this specialist organisation.
This is a truly unique opportunity that offers a lot of international travel, flexible working and a very competitive package. Furthermore, the culture is one of absolute collaboration and innovation, with creativity and knowledge being at the forefront of what they do, and they inspire thinking outside of the box to get the job done.
If you have the mathematical and scientific knowledge required, a strong commercial awareness and experience in marketing, sales and/or account management, then we would be very keen to hear from you and represent you, so please get in touch.
With the flexibility surrounding working hours and working from home, this role could suit those travelling from London, Cambridge, Milton Keynes, Reading, Slough, Maidenhead, Hemel Hempstead, Northampton, Coventry, Swindon, Bath, Birmingham, Bristol or Southampton.
For registration purposes please could you let us know where you are currently based or which locations you are considering as well as your required salary and notice period.
