Head of Marketing, Stowmarket -
Brand Recruitment have been commissioned, on a retained basis, to work on a particularly exciting marketing leadership role for one of the regions food and drink success stories. This opportunity presents itself every so often, but it’s incredibly rare to have the chance to work on both food and drinks based products... rather than either of the above!
The business sells products on a global scale through to the majority of the major food and beverage brands, and they’ve been synonymous with food production within their field for the last few decades.
Their product range is really vast, and they’re operating at the pinnacle of both product provision and service levels for their customer base.
After a rather aggressive period of growth, the business is now seeking a candidate for the position of Head of Marketing and Innovation to join their team in Stowmarket. This role will be a pivotal hire which will see the incumbent involved at both the implementational and strategic levels.
Firstly, you will need to be an excellent communicator, and possess a natural ability to build strong relationships for this position. Building strategic relationships with a number of internal stakeholders will be high on the priorities list, as well as establishing ‘what works in marketing and what needs a ‘revamp’. You will have full ownership of the budget, and responsibility for creating a strategy… driving it forwards across the business. Given the current structure within the wider marketing team, this role requires someone with both digital and more traditional marketing experience, as you’ll be the ‘go to’ project lead on creating the companies new online image.
There’s an existing team to be managed and it would be ideal if the chosen candidate was to have some managerial history, ideally within a medium to large sized organisation, selling globally if possible!
If you are a keen problem solver, this element of the role will hopefully be of interest…
They’re looking for the role to have a balance of innovation also, whether that be the development of new products, launching new ranges or indeed working with existing customers to find markets to target. They have the best product development teams in the business, and they’ve been doing it for years, and as such, they’re looking for that link between NPD and marketing to be established, to really home in on want the customers want.
This would be most suitable to a candidate who’s had experience of marketing products being sold into FMCG environments, however, the company may also consider candidates who have worked within marketing and innovation for other tangible or food based products.
Due to the location of the office, this role would be suitable for those living in: Cambridge, Bury St Edmunds, Ipswich, Norwich, Colchester, Thetford, Sudbury, Diss and Newmarket.
