Another year has gone by and it is time for Brand Recruitment to release its annual Marketing Salary Review. The whole of 2011 and the beginning of 2012 has been a very busy time for marketing recruitment despite the bleak reports in the press. It has been our busiest period since we started in 2006 and we were delighted to win the Best Regional Marketing Recruitment Agency at the Marketing and Advertising Recruitment Awards. This award has underlined the authority we bring to this year’s Marketing Salary Review.
This salary survey compares marketing job salaries from this year to last year for both in-house and agency-side roles. Overall the majority of salaries have risen. Companies’ budgets have changed in comparison with 2008 and this certainly holds true within marketing departments. Competition to attract or retain consumers is fierce which has resulted in new strategies being implemented and marketing features highly amongst this. We also contrast how much the different sectors pay across in-house roles as well as regional variations across our specialised area. This includes Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire where we have noticed a sharp increase in the number of companies looking to recruit marketing roles.
The final sections look at how far employees are willing to travel as well as the reasons why marketing candidates are searching for new roles.
To compile this list we spoke with our registered candidates, the clients we work with and evaluated the marketing jobs we have recruited for throughout the past year. This will hopefully give a well-rounded overview of the local marketing jobs market.
