Our well-established and industry leading client is looking for a proactive and driven Category Manager to join their busy and lively team just outside of Bracknell. The Role – Category Manager
As Category Manager, you’ll be responsible for driving growth and sales within your category. You’ll need to keep your finger on the pulse to source the latest products for the business and anticipate what the customer wants before they know themselves! Not only will you be sourcing new products from suppliers, but you’ll also be working with them to develop new products not currently offered on the market to keep this brand ahead of the curve and the competition. As such, you’ll need prior experience developing NPD and evaluating range performance within a retail or FMCG environment, with a strong track record of introducing commercially successful products to a brand.
We’re looking for someone with a strong head for figures, as you’ll oversee all P&L for your category and will negotiate the most competitive prices and deals with suppliers to keep costs down and ensure maximum profitability for the business. Working with a number of internal departments and colleagues, you’ll assist in the marketing strategy of your new products and how these will be propositioned to retail partners and the end consumer.
The Requirements – Category Manager
Candidates applying for this role must have previous experience working within a large retail organisation or will have worked in-house in a similar position for a consumer or FMCG brand. You’ll need a strong awareness of market trends and the ability to predict “the next big thing” to ensure this business stays one step ahead of its competitors and is always providing their customers with the latest innovation. You will be a confident communicator with both internal stake holders and major retail partners, and be comfortable when delivering presentations etc. Above all, we’re looking for someone who has strong commercial nous and is driven and motivated to deliver the best results for the business and exceed objectives.
